Busy Busy Busy

That's been me the past few days.  Attended a memorial service up in Maryland for my mother-in-law, who passed away on May 7th.  And I'll tell you, anything that could have gone wrong before hand, did go wrong.  My nephew's car was broken in to, the proper cable had to be found to connect the laptop to the projector for the slide show, and my skirt didn't make the trip up from North Carolina.  It was a hectic morning to say the least.  But, in the end, it all worked out, and the service was beautiful.

Now I'm back home, with a list a mile long of things that must be done tomorrow before I return to work on Thursday.  Bills to pay, letters to write.  Trips to the library, the post office, the grocery store.  Laundry, laundry, and more laundry.  Ack!!!

On the bright side though, I should have Andrea's sketchbook in my hands by the end of the week so I can start on my June spread.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out the Sisterhood of the Traveling Sketchbooks tab.

And now, rather than starting another post, I'm gonna throw in this week's edition of Hoo Are You? courtesy of Night Owl Crafting.

1.  What is your favorite thing cooked on the bbq?
2. How do you celebrate Memorial Day?
3. Do you like your handwriting?
4. Do you still have your tonsils?

5. Do you unite your shoes when you take them off?

1. My favorite thing cooked on the GRILL is a big fat hand-cut ribeye steak that has been marinated in red wine, soy sauce, and black pepper.

2. Generally, I celerbrate Memorial Day by working :/  I work in the restaurant business, and Memorial Day is not one of the 3 days we close.

3.  I love my handwriting.  People only wish they could write as pretty as I can ;)

4.  I do indeed, and still get strep throat periodically.

5.  Sure don't, unless I'm wearing my boots.. Then I kinda have to.

M.I.A.

I know I have been the past couple of weeks. My new job takes up a lot of my time. I have, though, been able to list some new items in both my Etsy shop and my Artfire shop. Still having a huge destash sale on Etsy to make room for some new stuff.

And, I've been working on my sketchbook spread for the month of May...

It's all done and ready to be on its way in the morning :D.

Hoo Are You?

NightOwlCrafting

1. What type of diamond cut do you like?
2. If you are married when is your anniversary. if not what month
would you like to be married in?
3. What were or would you like your wedding colors to be?
4. How many bridesmaids did or would you have at your wedding?
5. How long have you been married?

1.  I've never really thought much about it.  I don't wear a lot of jewelry, almost none.  My engagement ring originally belonged to my grandmother.  It has 5 small round cut diamonds.

2.  I was married on January 4th.

3.  I didn't really have any official colors.  My wedding was small and low budget so there were no decorations.  My dress was pink though, and my bouquet was ivory and deep red.

4.  I had one, my sister.  And that was decided at the last minute, I guess you could say.  I wasn't planning on having any, but I changed my mind.

5.  I have been married for 4 months :D

Hoo are you?

NightOwlCrafting

1. Are you a mom and if so how many kids do you have?
2. List 3 qualities that you love about your mom!
3. What is your favorite thing your mother cooks?
4. What do you love about being a mom?

5. What are your plans for Mother's day?

1. I am a mom, but not to a human child.  My 5 year old lab mix is my child.  I brought her home when she was seven weeks old.  She's my baby.

2. She's caring, generous, and always there when I need her.

3. Lasagne, which she doesn't cook very often.

4. The utter joy with which I am greeted whether I've been gone 5 minutes or 5 days.

5. I don't know.  I hadn't thought about it until just now.  This is the first I've not had to work since I started working in 1998.
